Shared Voices Wraps Up Winter Interpreter Training

Shared Voices, MRC's language access social enterprise, finished up our final Introduction to Community & Medical Interpreting course of 2018 last weekend after 40 hours of class instruction and practical experience. The eleven-person class pictured above with trainer Esther Diaz included refugees, immigrants and US-born students practicing in Arabic, Dari, Korean, Pashto, Portuguese and Spanish. Next up is preparation of new curriculum to support our 2019 plans to offer an upgraded 40-hour introduction course separately from a new 24-hour Medical & Mental Health Interpreting Training.
