The thread running through Jessica’s work is a passion for the prevention of violence and the recovery of victims of violence. She worked as an analyst at Stratfor, as a counselor at Lifeworks, and an emergency services responder at the University of Texas. She has served on two nonprofit boards and has been an elementary literacy volunteer and a Refugee Services of Texas volunteer. She also facilitates the service learning club at her children’s school. She earned her BA in International Affairs from George Washington University and her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Texas, Austin. Jessica is moved by the resilience of the refugees she’s met and energized by MRC’s mission to empower them toward success in Austin.
