FUNDING: MRC has operated up to this point by the generous donations of individuals. It is through these generous donations that we are able to do all of the great work that we do. Please consider making a donation today to help fund our programs.
VOLUNTEERS: MRC is seeking interested and passionate volunteers to engage in our programs. For more information please contact volunteers@mrcaustin.org. Volunteer orientations happen on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-12pm. Interested volunteers please fill out this application (pdf) and send it to volunteers@mrcaustin.org.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS: MRC is seeking interested and passionate members to serve on our committees in the areas of Fundraising, Events, PR/Marketing, Youth, Programs and more. Please contact info@mrcaustin.org if you are interested in getting involved at this level.
COTTON FABRIC FOR OUR SEWING PROGRAM: Refugees from across cultures come together each Saturday to learn to sew and make clothes and accessories for themselves and their families. Cotton fabric of at least 2 yards in length is always appreciated and is an ongoing need.
COMMUNITY CENTER: MRC is seeking a community center to call our own. We are grateful for the use of shared spaced with Foundation Communities but this is only for a few days a week. We would like to offer our programs 7 days a week and are seeking a place in the North Lamar/Airport to Rutland community. If you know of a place that would be suitable please let us know!
JOB RESOURCES: Due to the economy, jobs for all Austinites are difficult to come by. However, they are especially difficult for newcomers when they don't have an employment network they can tap into. Refugees are legal to work in the United States and come with a variety of skills and backgrounds and are all eager to work. If you know of any job opportunities in any kind of industry please let us know.
