Brett M. Merfish works as a staff attorney at Texas Appleseed, focusing on fair financial services while also supporting other projects. She has experience working as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill, as an associate at Patton Boggs LLP, and as the political director for a worker center. Brett received a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia Law School, where she was a member of the Virginia Law Review editorial board and founded the Feminist Legal Forum. She received a Master of Public Policy from the Sanford School at Duke University and her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College. In addition to the MRC, Brett serves on the boards of Challah for Hunger and the New Leaders Council. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking, activism of all sorts, traveling, and spending time with her adorable dog Archie.
